On September 30, 2021, the third corvette of the Qatari Emiri Navy was launched, the Al Khor F103.
Al Zubarah-class or Doha class, is a new class of Air Defense Corvettes of Quatar. The leader ship, the Al Zubarah F101, was launched on February 27, 2020, and is expected to enter service this year. When completed, the ship will have a displacement of 3,300 tons, a length of 107 m, a beam of 14.7 m, and a crew of 112. She is able to operate high speed boats such as rigid-hulled inflatable boat with the help of lateral cranes and hauling ramps. All four of the Doha class will serve as the backbone of the Qatari Emiri Navy.
The Al Zubarah is equipped with a Combined diesel and diesel system, allowing a top speed of up to 28 knots, a range of 3,500 nmi, and an endurance of 21 days. The flight deck and hangar are sized for hosting one NH90 helicopter.
The new platform present a sophisticated and robust combat system with a full range of weapons for anti-air and anti-surface warfare operations. Weapon suit includes 1 × OTO Melara 76 mm gun, 16 × Aster 30 Block 1NT surface-to-air missiles, 8 × Exocet MM40 Block 3 anti-ship missiles, 2 x Marlins remote weapons, and 1 × RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile. The anti-submarine warfare capabilities are limited to self-defense, although the ship can accommodate and operate a NH90 NFH maritime helicopter which can be equipped with an ASW suite including lightweight torpedoes.
