The Russian Defense Ministry on June 29 released a video of the Mi-35M “flying tank” launching missiles at command posts and armored vehicles of the Ukrainian army. However, before that, many helicopters of this type were shot down by the Ukrainian side.

Mi-35M “flying tank” is a line of heavy attack helicopters launched by Russia into the Ukrainian battlefield from the very first days.

This line of heavy attack helicopters is hoped by the Russian side to continue the feats of the legendary Mi-24 developed by the Soviet Union before.

Indeed, when it was launched into the Ukrainian battlefield, the Mi-35M “flying tank” caused certain losses to the Ukrainian army.

However, there were also a number of Mi-35M helicopters shot down by the Ukrainian side with shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles.

At least 5 to 10 Mi-35Ms were shot down by Ukrainian fire. The Kiev side announced that they had eliminated a total of nearly 200 Russian helicopters from the battle, but the Moscow side has not commented on this information.

The Mi-35M is a modernized version of the Mi-35 attack helicopter, while the Mi-35 is developed from the legendary Mi-24 attack helicopter.

Serial production since 2005, Mi-35M helicopter is upgraded with avionics and combat weapons, while the external appearance is quite similar to Mi-24 and Mi-35 .

Mi-35M has the ability to use guided and unguided weapons in all weather conditions, can attack at an altitude of 10-25m during the day and 50m at night on land or in the river, sea.
