In the event that the fifth-generation Turkish Fighter X (TF-X) may successfully built and launched internationally, the Russians might be worried about their Su-57.
Dmitry Shugaev, head of Russia’s Military Technical Cooperation Agency, told Eko türk tv.
“It is impossible today to exclude the possibility that in the future, when our Turkish partners create their own national fighter TF-X and if this car and our su-57 will be released to the world market of military products [military products], they can potentially be competitors”, — TASS quoted the head of the department.
In August 2019, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the purchase of the Su-57 was under discussion. In July of the same year, Zvezda reported that TF-X could be a danger for Russia, as Ankara plans to order 250 of these aircraft, while Moscow plans to buy only 76 Su- 57.
A complete TF-X mockup was launched in July 2019 at the 53rd Paris Air Show (France).
The research and manufacture of the TF-X was announced in May 2013. Accordingly, the 27-ton fighter will be able to reach a maximum altitude of 17 km and a speed of up to Mach 2. The first flight is expected to be completed by 2023.
